Going home from hospital (April 30, 2006)

We are leaving the hospital.. I am so excited to be going home. Staying in the hospital for 3 days can get pretty restless.

Welcome Maya Rose Buchanan

She is finally here.
We welcomed our new addition on April 27th. She weighed 8lbs 6 oz. and was 20 inches long. She is such a beautiful baby. We could not be happier.

Almost there...

Its 2 days before Maya will be here. I am not really having any emotions about it just yet. I am sure tommorrow night I will not be able to sleep, constantly thinking about what she looks like and how things will work out with our family schedule.

I don't really have much more to say, jsut counting down the days and hours till she will be here.

Here is a picture from last week. At 38 weeks.

35 weeks.

Today we went to the dr. Good news, only 1/2 pd. up from 2 weeks ago. YEAH for me. At first I was like, is that ok, but I guess so. The dr. was very happy :0)

Baby's heartbeat was around 145 beats per minute. Good range to be in. My blood pressure was doing great, holding at a good number.

Overall the dr. appt went well, nothing serious to report. The only bummer is that we have another month to go. Not really a bummer, I guess the excitement of Maya actually being here is getting to me and it seems like it is taking forever.

I will go back to the dr. in 2 weeks. I really hope this month flies by.

Until next week's update, Ta Ta.

34 weeks

We are now 34 weeks, one less week in the countdown. Things are starting to get harder and harder, from pulling myself out of bed to at the end of the day trying to wind down while the baby is constantly kicking or has the hiccups.

It seems like its been forever since we first got pregnant. It weird to know that in just 5 weeks from now we will have a little girl in our family.

Something that I always want to remember about being pregnant with Maya is seeing Noah get so excited when I talk about her. I mentioned to him one day after picking him up from school that baby Maya would sit next to him in the car, and he go so excited. He kept telling me, "baby sit here" which was right next to him. I proceed to ask him all the time if he will share his toys, his milk, and give her kisses. He smiles and always says "YA"!. I love him so much, I know he is going to be such a great brother.

Another great thing I want to remember about being pregnant is that Noah asked me where my belly button had gone. Its not as deep as it used to be so I thought that was so cute. I said can you kiss your sister and he kissed my tummy many times.

One thing I pray for is that we can still together as a loving family. We can go through some really rough times and I pray that we will love each other and can be happy as a family. I am truely blessed to have a husband that is such a loving father.

Well, with 5 more weeks to go, I hope to continue each week with my progress. Monday we go to the dr. for our 35 week checkup. I am so excited.

33 weeks (6 more to go)

At our last dr. appt. we got our CSection scheduled. If all goes well we will be delivered a week before our due date on April 27th, 2006. I was so excited to finally know that we had a date set. I just hope that I last till then.

Overall the pregnancy has been just "ok". Having to walk up 3 flights of stairs at work each time you want to go downstairs and then back up to my office is probably the worst thing.

As of my last dr. appt. which was on Monday, March 13, 2006 I have gained a total of about 30 lbs. I guess thats not bad considering that at this time when I was pregnant with Noah I had gained 42 lbs. My blood pressure is great and my swelling is bearable. I think that Maya is going to be a big baby, seems like she has no room to move these days. Dr. said that she was big so I'm banking on that as well. Some of the kicks are real powerful for such a little girl. :0)

I've been spending a lot of my weekends organizing and sometimes reorganizing the baby room. I still need to get more things washed and ready. I am excited yet very nervous. Noah is doing great though, I know he knows that there is a baby inside my tummy and he tells me that he wants to see her.

Only 6 weeks to go and she will be here.
